Oil Tan Delta Test System / Tan Delta & Resistivity Test Set / Loss Angle Meter are manufactured and exported by Ajit Electronic Corporation. The under test oil is stressed by an AC voltage to determine the desperation factor / loss angle measurement using three terminal oil sell. Oil resistivity can be measured using IR Tester & Three terminal oil sell.

Working principle
The current through the capacitor will not lead exactly 90 deg. From the voltage across it. This extent of deviation in the phase is measured with an ultra sensitive phase detector comprising of solid state components only. The stress voltage at which the measurements are to be made, can be set as desired. Power source is continuously variable up to 600 V AC which gives a maximum stress voltage of 300 / v / mm in our Three Terminal Oil Cell. However, if tests are to be carried out at higher stress voltage then the high rating power source can be supplied at extra cost. The stress voltage in normal test should be above 200 V/mm. as per IS recommendation.

This instrument measures dissipation factor (Tan-Delta) of the insulating liquids (oil) with the help of IR Tester and three terminal oil cell with heating chamber.

Heating Chamber
 
Heating chamber is designed to heat the insulating liquid (oil) up to elevated temperature 0-150°C in short time of 15/20 minutes. A potentiometer is provided for setting of temperature at required level. Heating chamber with oil cell for easier testing at required temperature fitted with thermostat and protection device to prevent shock hazards. Three terminal oil cell is designed to test the dissipation factor (Tan-Delta) and resistivity of the insulation liquids.
